From the first candle we poured, our approach hasn't changed: small batches, clean ingredients, and scents built around sensory memories of a place rather than a generic "fresh linen" or "vanilla." Every candle is hand-poured with the same standard we set out with — nothing in the jar we wouldn't want in our own home.

Kingfisher Studio started the way a lot of small businesses do... by noticing a problem we couldn't unsee.
During a year spent mostly at home, we found ourselves buying candle after candle, chasing the feeling of a lit room and a quiet evening. It wasn't until we started reading labels that we realized how much of what we were breathing in had nothing to do with comfort at all. So we decided to make our own.
Our name comes from home: Cooperstown, New York, and the Kingfisher Tower that sits quietly over Otsego Lake — a lake that gave James Fenimore Cooper the name for his character Uncas, with a stillness we try to bottle in every scent we make.
