FAQs
Learn about our thoughtful material choices and how to maximize the life of your artisanal Kingfisher Studio candles.
What materials do you use in your candles?
Our candles are hand-poured using 100% coconut soy wax with American-grown soybeans, cotton wicks and premium fragrance oils. We proudly
formulate our candles using only premium ingredients to adhere to RIFM and IFRA standards. They are always free of phthalates, carcinogens, mutagens, reproductive toxins and California's Prop 65 list - ingredients commonly found throughout candle industry fragrance oils.
We don't want to put anything with harmful chemicals or toxins in our home and we thought you might not want to either!
What are Phthalates?
Phthalates are used to dissolve raw materials when making fragrance oils. Phthalates are a family of man-made chemical compounds developed in the last century to be used in the manufacture of plastics, solvents, and personal care products. They are colorless, odorless, oily liquids that do not evaporate easily and do not chemically bind to the material they are added to. Phthalates are endocrine disruptors and androgen blocking chemicals.
Phthalates must be listed among the ingredients on product labels, unless they are added as a part of the “fragrance” ingredient listing. Under current law, they can simply be labeled “fragrance,” even though they may make up 20% or more of the product.

Why is my candle tunneling?
Tunneling occurs when a candle does not burn long enough for the entire surface to melt on the first use. To avoid this, ensure you burn your candle for at least 2-4 hours the first time you light it, or long enough for the entire surface to melt. Trim your wick before each use following to ensure a steady, clean flame.
Do you offer international shipping?
As a small business, at this time we are only offering shipping within the United States.
What mail carrier do you use?
We ship with UPS and USPS and charge a flat rate of $8.95 regardless of order size. Orders over $50 ship for free.
How long will it take to get my order?
We strive to pack and ship all your orders quickly. Typically, orders will ship within 3 days (M-F) but please allow up to 5 business days for your order to ship. Once shipped, packages should arrive within 1-5 business days depending on location.
What is your return policy?
As a small business, we want our customers to be satisfied with each and every order. We do not offer refunds but if you receive a damaged product, please get in touch with us so we can make it right. We will need a photo of the damaged box including all protective packaging, a photo of the shipping label on the box, and a photo of the damaged item. Candles must be unused.
Stolen packages, packages delivered to the wrong address, or entering your address incorrectly.
If UPS/USPS fails to deliver your package correctly or if your package is stolen, this is not the responsibility of Kingfisher Studio. You will be prompted to file a claim through the carrier for a full refund — in the event this occurs, it is completely out of our hands and is solely the responsibility of the carrier. Please be sure to ship your candles to a reliable address.
Please always double check your shipping address at check out. If you input the wrong shipping address, the package will be returned to Kingfisher Studio and there will be a $8.95 re-ship fee since we don't get a refund on shipping when it's returned to sender and we have to pay for shipping twice.
